Attempt to disrupt Sevika Samiti programme thwarted
Consolidation work among Hindu women by Rashtra Sevika Samiti in Tamilnadu is growing. Extremist groups among Muslim, Communist and Dravidian outfits (Tamilnadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam, Naam Thamizar, Viduthalai Chiruthai Katchi, and DK) tried to create a scene in front of the School where the Guru Puja utsav of the Gobichettipalayam Shaka (Erode District) was in progress on July 13.  On information, City Police chased the unruly elements away.  The Gurupuja utsav was successfully completed. The utsav was held in Diamond Jublee Hr. Sec School, Gobichettipalayam.  Smt Geetha Ravindran, Dakshin Kshetra Karyavaahika and Akhila Bharatiya Karyakarini Sadasya, was present on the occasion.
When 1008 children performed ‘Guru Puja’
On Vyasa Purnima day, 1008 teachers drawn from Chennai city schools assembled at the sprawling maidan where the five day annual Hindu Spiritual and Service Fair was being conducted.  As many students drawn from Government schools performed Pada Puja to the teachers and gave them gifts of saree, dhoti etc.  The fair consisting of 250 stalls and participated by several hundred Hindu religious service organizations and groups were inaugurated by Kanchi Shankaracharya Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal.  On the concluding day a grand Srinivasa Kalyanam Puja was arranged by Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam.  On all the five days thousands of Chennai residents were benefitted by the crisp and attractive display of hundreds of Hindu projects run by as many organizations and groups, which have openly identified themselves as Hindu. This Hindu awareness and Hindu identity by all sections of society is the main aim of the fair.
A shameful ban on Bharatiya vesh in Chennai
A judge was denied entry into a hall where a book release function was in progress. Where? Right here at the Capital of Tamilnadu i.e. Chennai. Who is the Judge?  Justice D Hariparanthaman, a sitting Judge of Madras High Court.  He was prevented from entering because he was in a dhoti. Strong criticism from several political leaders of the state ensued.  Everyone wondered whether the national dhoti should be insulted like this in Hindusthan itself.
